DO YOU KNOW WHICH HOUSE PLANTS MIGHT HARM YOUR PETS?

Indoor plants can be a great way to bring life and nature into your home. However, some varieties can be harmful to your pets and make them sick.

When purchasing indoor plants, there is often limited information available about the effects they may have on animals – so, which plants should be avoided?

Dogs and cats are curious creatures – they will climb on or chew anything and everything, including your houseplants. Here are some common houseplants to avoid if you have cats or dogs: Aloe Vera, Amaryllis, Chinese Jade, Cyclamen, Hosta, Hyacinth, Ivy, Poinsettia, Primrose, Succulent(s) and Tomato plant.

There are safe varieties too, so your pet and your plant can live in happily side-by-side, including African Violets, Air plants, Bamboo, Palms, Prayer plants, Spider plants and herbs like Basil, Sage, and Thyme.
